My Story
Here's What Happened

Who I Am
Caring for kids in the foster care system has been a huge part of my heart and life. Through both parenting and advocacy, I’ve done my best to bring love, stability, and support to children in care, as well as the families who open their hearts and homes to them. My hope is to make a real difference—helping kids feel safe and valued while supporting those who walk this journey alongside them.
2009
Wife.
In 2009 I married my husband, Joel. As a wife, I am deeply committed, supportive, and steadfast in my marriage. Joel and I have built a strong foundation over 15 years, rooted in love, faith, and partnership. I prioritize open communication, shared values, and intentional time together, even amidst the chaos of parenting and daily responsibilities. I believe in growing alongside my husband, encouraging each other’s dreams, and facing challenges as a team. Whether it’s through small gestures of love, laughter in the little moments, or standing firm in our faith together, I strive to be a wife who nurtures our relationship with grace, strength, and unwavering devotion.
2011
Youth Mentor
The idea of fostering first took root in my heart during college when I volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club with my sorority. I saw firsthand how stability, encouragement, and a listening ear could make a difference in a child’s life. Many of the kids I worked with came from challenging backgrounds, and I found myself wondering what more could be done to give them the security and love they deserved. That experience planted a seed, and over the years, it grew into a calling. I knew one day I wanted to open my home to children in need, not just as a temporary support but as a safe and loving place where they could thrive.

2012
Mom.
My journey to motherhood has been one of both immense joy and deep heartache. In 2012, I experienced the overwhelming love of becoming a mother for the first time with the birth of my daughter, Sophia. Holding her in my arms, I knew that being a mom was my greatest calling. But the years that followed were marked by loss—four miscarriages that tested my faith and strength in ways I never imagined. Each loss was heartbreaking, yet I held onto hope, believing that my family was not yet complete. In 2018, that hope was realized when my daughter Esme was born, a beautiful reminder of resilience, love, and answered prayers. Motherhood, for me, has been a journey of both sorrow and celebration, shaping me into the woman and mother I am today.
2020
Mom Plus
In 2020, amidst the uncertainty of the world, I felt a strong and undeniable pull toward fostering. It was something that had been on my heart for years, ever since my time volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club in college, but it had never felt like the right time—until then. Joel and I knew that our home was filled with love to give, and after many prayers and conversations, we took the leap. We stepped into the foster care world not just as caregivers but as advocates, determined to provide stability, safety, and unconditional love to children who needed it most. That decision changed our lives forever, opening our hearts in ways we never expected and reinforcing our belief that family isn’t just about biology—it’s about love, commitment, and showing up when it matters most.
